Okay, alright, so I'm a big science dork.
I'm living in an experiment and I might as well have all the feedback I can get, right? I've been gifted a step tracking device and have exported the data to add to my health arsenal. I'm using the results to understand how my current protocol is affecting me. Take a look! Hmm, bar? or area? IT'S SO HARD TO CHOOSE!

I'm on the hunt for knowledge.
My protocol has recovered some of my cognitive abilities and now, in old school Stephanie style, I want to know things. In order to be as productive as I can with the protocol and to better understand the science experiment I am living in I have taken to studying Organic Chemistry, amino acids and proteins, the circulatory system, the immune system, and the lymphatic system. Here's some of that HERE. With no background except the aforementioned science experiment and the challenges of learning with lyme on the brain, it's slow going. I just ran into an article about how they recently found that the lymph system is connected to the brain!!!! ...Which makes an awful lot of sense in my experience. Read that HERE I'm using the gift of a good friend to track my every step so I can really know what I can do in a day. I am experimenting with new ways to be in motion, like an adaptive yoga class, all floor work, which I loved but from which I have experienced some muscular backlash. That I have the drive or any iota of energy to do these things I have the ever evolving protocol to thank. I look forward to checking in with the next report and more exciting Recycle for Lyme news in the near future. :) Making the most progress I've made in months and feeling more concerned than ever about the funding to sustain my progress!
About to hit the spreadsheets... scary. Hello again.
My apologies for my long absence. I've been diligently working to tweak my protocols so that I feel well and can function. The bad news is that it took several months. The good news is that I am finally enjoying some reliable function! Of course, as soon as I make progress, I get myself very busy. ;) Basically, I'm doing a combination of Functional Medicine and detox protocols. In combination with the guidance I get from the genetic testing, I think I may have found just the right combination to make some forward progress! I'm very pleased with the progress I've made just recently. While I'm still physically struggling, my mental faculties have been recovering to be better than they have been in years, probably a decade. I'm grateful to be back, I have so much work to do. <3 I have the socks to prove it AND now the interview. Mackay Rippey of Lyme Ninja Radio interviewed me (Stephanie's Total Recovery) and Gregg Kirk of the TIcked Off Foundation about the Recycle for Lyme program as well as our respective healing journeys through Lyme disease. Give it a listen. My pic complements of Kevin Brett of http://soul-imagery.com/
Watch her AWESOME empties video and find out how she's helping Recycle for Lyme #recycleforlyme I've become unintentionally lax about posting to update you and, if I have to, I'd like to blame that on my exceptionally good news on many fronts. ;) I'm very excited about functional medicine as the more I learn, the more sense it makes. I absolutely LOVE that Lyme becomes secondary (or even lesser) in the scheme of this approach. I have always understood that my body, given the right aide, could utilize that aide and totally recover by fixing itself. I'm currently learning about Methylation, a process by which modification of heavy metals, regulation of gene expression, regulation of protein function, and RNA processing can occur. Evidently I'm on my way to an honorary degree. The new protocol continues to excite when broadening my understanding with this knowledge. I'm also excited to say that I've submitted testing to participate in a Lyme study that I suspect will be pivotal in helping Lyme treatment. Findings are discussed in Philly in November. More on that later! Gregg, of The Ticked Off Foundation, and I recently completed the first of many interviews about our Lyme stories and Recycle for Lyme. We have many eager participants behind us who are picking up the ball and running with it (Lyme advocates, patients, Beauty Vloggers, Salons, Dentists, Physical Therapists,etc.!). We hope to spread the word to make the most impact in the shortest amount of time to help Lyme patients in crisis NOW. I've also been blessed with family coming to the rescue on a regular basis. While that's always true, more people have been appearing and volunteering for even more projects and it couldn't come at a better time. All this awesome takes an army and I'm so grateful to have been blessed with them. I know there's more to update you on I am overlooking at the moment! I'll keep you posted just as much as possible. I can't wait to share MORE good news!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was wonderful to work with Kerry on this interview. Her Lyme experience and mine have some interesting parallels and she has made it her business to gain more understanding for Lyme patients by sharing their stories. Her refreshingly positive voice is a treasure. Stop by her site and get to know her!
